Privacy Policy

What MoveMap reads from Apple Health

With your explicit permission, MoveMap reads the following from Apple Health:

• Workout samples (runs, walks, hikes, rides, and other activities)
• GPS route polylines associated with those workouts
• Distance quantities (walking/running and cycling)

MoveMap does not read heart rate, body measurements, sleep, nutrition, or any clinical or medical data.

What MoveMap never does

• No account. There is no sign-in and no user profile.
• No servers. MoveMap has no backend. Your data is never transmitted anywhere.
• No analytics. No third-party analytics SDK is included.
• No advertising. No ad identifiers, no tracking libraries, no ad networks.
• No third-party sharing. Your workouts are never shared with any service, ever.
• No Strava or external OAuth. MoveMap reads exclusively from Apple Health on your device.

Photos

If you use the "Save to Photos" feature on the Year in Review screen, MoveMap will request add-only access to your Photos library and write a single image. MoveMap never reads, scans, or accesses your existing photos.

Location

MoveMap does not request device location access. GPS coordinates shown in the app come exclusively from workout route data already stored in Apple Health - they are read locally and never leave your device.

OpenStreetMap / Street coverage

The street coverage feature downloads anonymised street network data from OpenStreetMap via the public Overpass API. The request contains a geographic bounding box of your workout area but no personally identifiable information and no precise GPS tracks. OpenStreetMap data is licensed under the ODbL.

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. MoveMap receives only a StoreKit receipt confirming whether a subscription is active. Your payment information and Apple ID are never visible to MoveMap.

Crash reporting

The current version of MoveMap does not include any crash reporting or remote logging. If a future version adds optional crash reporting, this policy will be updated and any reports will be stripped of workout content and coordinates before transmission.

Data storage and deletion

MoveMap stores no data on external servers. All data processed by the app stays on your iPhone in app-private storage. Deleting MoveMap removes every file it created. Your original data in Apple Health is never modified or deleted by MoveMap.

Children

MoveMap is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because no data is collected from any user, this is inherent by design.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change - such as adding crash reporting or a server-side feature - we will update the effective date above and note the change prominently. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
