With permission, MoveMap reads workouts, associated GPS routes, and walking, running, and cycling distance quantities from Apple Health. It does not read heart rate, body measurements, sleep, nutrition, or clinical data.
The app makes network requests for maps, street coverage, and purchase access as described below.
MoveMap requests When In Use location permission when you first use the Locate button. If granted, it may refresh your location on later launches to center the map. A last-known coordinate is cached on your iPhone for fast centering; a cached fix older than seven days is not reused. This is separate from GPS routes already in Apple Health. You can change the permission in iPhone Settings.
Map display uses network services. Street coverage requests public street-network data from OpenStreetMap's Overpass service for a city or geographic area derived from workout locations. A fallback request may include an area's bounding coordinates. Complete workout tracks are not uploaded to Overpass, but the requested area may reveal an approximate workout location to that service.
If you choose to save a Year in Review postcard, MoveMap requests add-only Photos access and writes a PNG. It does not read existing photos. If you share or export an image, it goes to the destination you select.
MoveMap includes an optional Sentry crash-reporting integration that is disabled by default in the App Store version. If enabled in a future version, this policy will be updated before use.
Apple processes in-app purchases. MoveMap uses RevenueCat to check purchase and subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives purchase-history information and an app user identifier for this purpose. MoveMap does not receive payment-card details. Deleting MoveMap removes its app-private local files, including cached workout and location data. Original workouts in Apple Health are unaffected. Depending on your Apple settings, Health data may sync through iCloud. Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase records under their policies. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
MoveMap is rated 4+. It does not require an account or use routes for advertising.
